If you live on the North Shore, your neighbors are quick change artists David and Dania Maas.

The two, who live in The Glen, are well known for their success on America’s Got Talent, for their NBA, NFL, and NHL halftime performances, and most recently, for teaching Katy Perry how to change costumes mid-show without leaving the stage. And these neighbors are, for their next amazing feat, transforming the Glen Town Center into a modern-day vaudeville with the opening of their variety club, The Laughing Chameleon,  as well as bringing a Windy City Circus to downtown Chicago.

There’s something funny happening in The Glen.

A group of entertainment industry veterans are gearing up for the opening of The Laughing Chameleon, a comedy, live music and all-around entertainment club that is scheduled to host its first act Dec. 27.

“There’s nothing like this on the North Shore,” said David Mass, one of the four co-owners of the club.

Although The Laughing Chameleon name suggests a comedy club, Mass said it’s not all about the jokes.

“It’s not a comedy club. We’re very much a variety club,” he said.

The first scheduled performer, Christina Bianco, is a Broadway singer. The owners plan to book acts that range from magicians to standup comedians, Mass said. Monday nights will be reserved for open mic performances.
